An actual weekend off...and a short trip

As you may know, the life of a chef at an inn doesn't really allow for weekends off, but this weekend was different and a very timely blessing for us. Troy just wrapped up a very busy few weeks, and they decided not to be open at all this weekend, so on Thursday evening, we hopped in the car and took off for Hartford, CT. We had no hotel and really no plan, but we're okay like that.

We found a hotel, had a late dinner and a very eventful evening...don't really want to talk about it, but it involved Chloe puking...followed by me and then Troy. Ian was the only one that didn't get sick, but he kept going out into the hall to breathe. The next morning, we were all fine, and took off for downtown Hartford where we toured the capitol building, found a great park (complete with Chloe's favorite - a carousel), went swimming, and then went to see High School Musical 3 that evening.

We had a good time away and will take off again tomorrow to visit with friends in Albany for the day!
