Foodie Family

We have been to the Culinary Institute of America for our big adventure, lived at a NY inn, and are now settling back into Oregon where we can love on family!

New York City!

What a great day we had yesterday! We visited NYC with my parents...hopped the commuter train into the city...got on less about 5 minutes from our house, but had to pay $5 extra for each adult train ticket because we had to buy them onboard the train. We got there too late, and the line was too long to purchase them at the station....oops!

We arrived at Grand Central Station about 10:30, walked to Times Square to check on Lion King tickets at TKTS...only to find out they weren't sold there. In true McFamily fashion, we decided to eat lunch and decide what to do for the afternoon. Lunch at Tony's, and it was excellent...good waiter, atmosphere, and food. When you ask a NYC policeman for good food suggestions, you get one!

After some sustenance, Mom and I braved the Toys R Us ferris wheel with the kiddos while Dad and Troy braved the TKTS lines again and successfully scored Phantom of the Opera tickets. What an excellent show...even the kiddos enjoyed it!

After the show, we decided that it was a little cold to take the 15 minute walk to Central Park, and we were all a little tired and still had a 2 hour train ride home. We picked up a little snack at Grand Central and headed for home.

An excellent day with GREAT memories!
