Foodie Family

We have been to the Culinary Institute of America for our big adventure, lived at a NY inn, and are now settling back into Oregon where we can love on family!

Home Away From Home

Yesterday, we were able to host 4 students from Troy's class at the Culinary for dinner. From L to R (Craig from Detroit, Pierre from Washington, DC, Chris from Santa Fe, Troy, and Mike from Brooklyn) I feel like I know them already because I have heard so much about them from Troy. It was very nice to put faces to names.

We had a very normal menu - none of the foofoo stuff here - yet! Troy did smoked cream cheese with spicy squash relish and crackers, brisket, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, smoky BBQ beans, broccoli salad, and parmesan cracked pepper bread. We had a really fun evening together, and Ian and Chloe immediately thought of them as large play toys. They had to play baseball, wrestle, play Nerf basketball, play computer games and finish up with Legos. They were such great sports, and they even brought flowers for Momma (also pictured)! We hope that we will see more of them in the future and that we and our home will be a blessing in their time at the Culinary.

Tomorrow is the beginning of our Little League season so I'm sure that we will have many blog entries about it in the future. Ian has practice tomorrow and his first game on Saturday afternoon. Thanks for all of your prayers! - Beck
