Official New Yorkers

Well, it is finally official. We are New Yorkers - we have the license plates and driver's licenses to prove it. Getting a car registered or a new license is quite an experience here. We needed our original birth certificate, social security card, old license from Oregon, a major credit card, and an insurance card. They thought about making me go home to get my marriage certificate since my name was different on my birth certificate. Good grief!

Anyway, I will have my permanent license in 4-6 weeks, and Troy's will only take about 2 weeks since it is a commercial one. So, only about $350 later, we are finally official. At least it didn't require a long wait in line today, and the people were extrememly friendly. How often do you hear that about a DMV office?!
